Thanks for the book lists (as a missionary homeschoolin' momma this helps a bunch).

Blessings from Costa Rica,
SarahSarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17295906251145450659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9672908576255934.post-30144306665494703592009-05-02T08:17:00.000-07:002009-05-02T08:17:00.000-07:00Colleen,

I keep shoving the laptop at Mark and making him read, too. :)

That's so neat that your love for India has been shaped by your friend. :)

I would LOVE to hear more about your Messianic church! (I've always wanted to attend a service!)
As for the sponsorship, Mark and I had a World Vision child for years until she grew out of the program. (But we weren't great about writing...:() And now our family sponsors a little five-year old girl from Ecuador. We have written her and sent pictures, but it's a little hit-and-miss.

My parents have this really cool tradition: every year @ Christmas they add a new sponsored child. By now they have a huge bulletin board full of all of their children. I would love to be able to do the same at some point in our lives.

~StacyStacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13485518521402606014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9672908576255934.post-9464772651012438722009-05-01T16:42:00.000-07:002009-05-01T16:42:00.000-07:00Pretty much all of their posts left me in tears. ...Pretty much all of their posts left me in tears. I am super excited to get started in the near future with sponsoring a child from Compassion. And one of the neat things is, I have this great friend here who grew up in India and now lives here with her husband, daughter, and in-laws. Their family and cultural traditions and their love for Jesus is so inspiring and so I have fallen in love with India.

I will let you know how our plan goes for this... in my mind, I picture us writing at least once a month, as a family (of course Elisa and eventually Anna could just draw a picture) on Saturday afternoons. We actually attend a Messianic church on Saturday mornings so we usually try to make Saturdays our day of rest and enjoy the time at home together.

Have you been doing this for awhile?Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00345777013311438434noreply@blogger.com
