Good morning!
{That is, it's morning in my neck of the woods....}
It's a beautiful morning-- clear, blue sky and sunshine. We're going to do school outside today- I'm going to toss a blanket on the lawn and pile school books onto our patio table. We're going to soak up the sunshine while it's here! I love this time of year!
All the kids are up except for Audra, who is still soundly sleeping. We're waiting on breakfast for her, but the other kids have already had hot cocoa with me at the table and are now playing happily. Well, two of them are playing happily. The other two are arguing over toys and they keep getting them taken away. ;)
I know things have been very quiet here on the blog. I don't even know if people are still checking in. It has been good, though. I deleted my Facebook account in October and since January have been spending less time online. And loving it. There has been good fruit in my life from these decisions and that leaves me unsure of what to do with this little space.
That said, I was thinking of this space this morning {and especially those of you who have read here in the past} so I thought I'd check in and say hello!
I hope you have a wonderful day today!
Much love to you and yours,
~Stacy (who is hungry and going to start up breakfast... Hopefully Audra will join us soon!)

Happy Monday and outside schooling to you! It's 49 degrees this morning here at 9:30... not super warm, but we're getting there!
ReplyDeleteI love checking in on your world. you are quite inspiring! T Simpson
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday to you too, friend! I just love your heart and have been so blessed by the wisdom and life you've shared here. Evidence that you have your priorities in the right place and that you're experiencing fruit as a result is all the more encouraging to me! Glad to hear things are well with you. I believe you've inspired me to make hot chocolate for my kids tomorrow morning... that's just fun. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Staci! I have opted to not get on FB for the same reason, though I'm sometimes tempted to when I fell 'left out' of what everybody else knows! :) Thanks for the neat nature study idea, too. We are heading to a public garden on Friday, and though we can't do the stakes, I like the idea and will think about how to make it work for us. Have a great day!
ReplyDelete{It's so good to hear from all of you!}
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda!
Well, it wasn't *quite* as warm as we were hoping for today, either-- (but warmer than 49 degrees!) My kids had blankets and sweatshirts on for the first part of the morning!
Emily!
As in, Emily-with-husband-Jim-and-adorable-teen-daughters-and- one-son?! I miss *your* blog! :) Wow about giving up the word games. I know how much you loved them! Great job!
Hello, sweet Tami~
Thank you for your kind words! I hope you and yours are well!
dear Jodi~
Thank you, sweet friend. On the hot cocoa: make sure to supply marshmallows! ;) (We do 1 for each year they've lived, maxing out at 10. :)) I'm *hoping* to get to see you if we can finagle (sp?) that girls retreat again. :)
Candice~
Hello to you! Yeah... that feeling left out of FB happenings passes, eventually. Overall I have barely missed it, although I do miss checking in to see baby pictures when I know a friend has had a baby. (So then I have my husband "friend" them so that I can peek. ;) Hello, Cutzi. Thanks for accepting Mark's friend request. ;))
Have fun doing nature study!
Blessings to all of you...
~Stacy
Oh, I hope this season of unpluggedness bears God's fruit in your life! I'm sure it is (because I know He has such good things for you!) and that your children are grateful.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Annie
Hey Stacy, went to a blog conference with Kenj this past week and thought about you as one of the first blogs I started following. Hope all is well with your family! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Stacy! I've never met you but I have absolutely loved reading your blog (I think I'm following for three years now!). I really enjoy the little peeks you let us have of your family life and the fun you have together :) I love whenever your blog comes up in my reading list, but I also really admire you for taking time out from the internet. Enjoy whatever you choose to do! x
ReplyDeleteAnnie~
ReplyDeleteThank you, kind friend. (((much love to you)))
Fletch~
Awww... thanks!
Hannah Joy~
Thank you for your kind words, Hannah. May God bless you and yours.
~Stacy
Stacy, yours was the first blog I started reading and I love your tender heart, passion for your family, and encouragement in this often difficult and lonely season.
ReplyDeleteSelfishly I hope you continue to blog, God will honor your decision to put your family first. Blessing~
Oh, Carolynn~
DeleteThank you. Truly, your words are such an encouragement to me. I am praying about continuing... :)
hi Stacy,
ReplyDeletejust like Carolynn above, yours was the first blog that I ever started to read. I love hearing about your family and what you are up to, especially now that we have lived away from the NW for so long. However, I totally understand if you want to spend more time with your kids and not online. That makes a lot of sense.
Maybe if you decide to not update your blog, you could just do one "end of the year" or "once a year" blog update, just so people like me can hear how those lovely kids are growing and how much you and Mark are in love :-)
In Christ,
Lucy xoxo
Sweet Lucy~
DeleteAww... thanks! True. I forget that people far away that used to know us may read here... and like to keep updated. I forget about that!
(By the way, I love it that you know how much I love Mark!) :)
Blessings to you and your dear and growing family!
~Stacy
Hi there friend!
ReplyDeleteI think it's fun that your blog is the first that many began to follow. I have loved coming by to be encouraged by what God has been teaching you and to keep up with your family. My blog, too, is seeing some quiet months... Maybe I'll get back to it this summer! I look forward to hearing from you via your blog or even more exciting, seeing you in person sometime soon.
Hi Rebecca!
DeleteThank you for the encouragement! I'm hoping to see you in person sometime soon, too!
~Stacy
Well, I for one would hate to see you go! I do check in here often, even when you are quiet. You seem to have such a peaceful, gentle way with your school and life ... even with such a large family. If you go, I'll certainly understand. But, I hope you don't. :)
