I am 45 lessons behind in correcting Ella's math.
No, that is not a typo. 45.
As in: forty-five.
So, basically: I don't correct. [Or rather I do, just only a few times per year, apparently.]
Well. Now you can all feel a whole lot better about your own correcting skills.
Carry on!

I love this! I get so behind too!! Perhaps we will catch up this summer. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah. Well, I figure I *generally* know how she's doing since she's usually doing math in an adjacent room and I get frequent questions.
DeleteBut still.
That was one reason I switched to Teaching Textbooks, but then I sadly realized what a huge mistake that was! I generally try to have the children put their stuff in a pile on the counter open to the spot to be corrected. But I feel the same way you do, I know from the 10,000 questions I get every day 'generally' where they are. However, with my olders I have no idea how their science is going. I am about 8 modules behind! Persevere My Friend On Ward!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good system to have them put their stuff open to the right spot to be corrected. I should try that. I told Mark that a weekly "Correcting Session" at Starbucks might just do the trick, too!
DeleteHa! You're funny. I'm not a good correcter either. Here's hoping our kids are good at math. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah. Although, about six lessons in (as I was correcting yesterday), I realized that it's important that I do so. We'll need to take some time to go over some things together. But, we've got nothing but time and thankfully I like fractions, so I'm looking forward to it!)
DeleteThat happened to me the other year. It is hard at times to keep up.
ReplyDeleteBeth-
DeleteI KNOW! It is, isn't it?
Clearly I need a better system than my current no-system. *grin*
Oh Stacy, I like the Starbucks idea!
ReplyDeleteIs it sinful for me to be secretly glad that I'm not the only one? Yes. It is. Please forgive me. Thanks for "keepin it real" Stac! :)
