True Story

I am 45 lessons behind in correcting Ella's math.

No, that is not a typo.  45.
As in: forty-five.

So, basically: I don't correct.  [Or rather I do, just only a few times per year, apparently.]

Well.  Now you can all feel a whole lot better about your own correcting skills.

Carry on!

    1. Yeah. Well, I figure I *generally* know how she's doing since she's usually doing math in an adjacent room and I get frequent questions.

      But still.

  2. That was one reason I switched to Teaching Textbooks, but then I sadly realized what a huge mistake that was! I generally try to have the children put their stuff in a pile on the counter open to the spot to be corrected. But I feel the same way you do, I know from the 10,000 questions I get every day 'generally' where they are. However, with my olders I have no idea how their science is going. I am about 8 modules behind! Persevere My Friend On Ward!

    1. That's a good system to have them put their stuff open to the right spot to be corrected. I should try that. I told Mark that a weekly "Correcting Session" at Starbucks might just do the trick, too!

  3. Ha! You're funny. I'm not a good correcter either. Here's hoping our kids are good at math. :)

    1. Yeah. Although, about six lessons in (as I was correcting yesterday), I realized that it's important that I do so. We'll need to take some time to go over some things together. But, we've got nothing but time and thankfully I like fractions, so I'm looking forward to it!)

  4. That happened to me the other year. It is hard at times to keep up.

    1. Beth-
I KNOW! It is, isn't it?
Clearly I need a better system than my current no-system. *grin*

  6. Is it sinful for me to be secretly glad that I'm not the only one? Yes. It is. Please forgive me. Thanks for "keepin it real" Stac! :)
