I want to know You more fully, to love You more deeply, to read Your Word more, to pray more, to serve with the purest of intentions, to love others more, to.... DO.
But even if I did all of those things, You would love me no more than You do right now, today, this moment- in my current state of what can only be called slothfulness in all of the above areas.
Ephesians 3:17-19
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Powerful! I was just talking with my kids this week; asking them if they could do anything to make God love them more, or if there was anything they could do to make God love them less. We talked about it for a while, and I told them that if they could really learn that truth while they are young, it would be wonderful. Took me to be in my 30s to even TRY to believe it!
