Easter project

We are working on this Easter project today-- we did the mixing and baking, the kids went outside to find sticks to use for the cross, and in lieu of the pipe-cleaner stick people, we colored/cut out our own. I'm excited to utilize this to tell the kids all over again about the resurrection of Christ!

Oh! I saw these little cookie nests on the Mayfly blog and think they're cute, but we'll do that another day... maybe to celebrate when we feel like it's *really* Spring around here.

What are some of the Easter traditions you do with your kids?

  1. We like to do these:

    Your project looks like fun!

  2. Those nests are cute. We used to do something similar for spring when we were kids, only we used butterscotch chips (melt in saucepan and then stir in chow mein noodles) and put jelly beans in the "nests" as eggs.
    Have fun with your projects!

  3. Thank you so much! I look forward to trying a new resurection project.

  4. How fun that you did this with the kids Stac! I bet they loved it!

  5. Hi Stacy;

    Hmm, this year I am not doing to good with traditions.

    I have boiled eggs and will do that *sometime* today. I am waiting for Papa to come home and the oldest to get done with her cleaning job, so we can do it as a family.

    Today is not only Good Friday...it is Princess Mercy's birthday...so I am swimming with things to do.

    Love you my sweet friend;
    mama to 7
    one homemade and 6 adopted

  6. Laura,
    I wanted to try those this year, but we never got around to it. Maybe next year! :) Thanks for the link.

    Cute! We haven't done it yet but I still hope to. How are you, sweet friend?

    Oh, good. My kids loved doing it. They were thrilled to see the empty tomb on Easter morn.

    Thanks. It was fun.

    I love your family! :) And Happy Birthday to Princess Mercy. She is such a beauty! So fun to celebrate her!

    Thank you for taking the time to comment, all! I sure appreciate you!
