Bringing Adelia home, Part 3

And here's Part 3:

Addie had her first doctor's appointment yesterday and is doing great! She's already at 7lbs, 13 oz. (Which means she's eating well and gaining weight, so we're thankful for that.) She is beautiful, attentive, engaging and, like all newborns, sleepy!

If there's anything else you'd like to know, or any details I've missed (and I'm sure I have..) I'd love to fill you in or answer any questions you have. Just ask your question in the comments and I'll reply to those in another post.

Over the next couple of posts I'll share more about saying goodbye to our foster daughter.

  1. Wow. That's some good stuff right there. :)

It was fun to see pictures of your foster daughter too. I'm looking forward to hearing how God has worked His faithfulness in your heart after having to let her go.

Enjoy the rest of the day with your four little ones!

  2. That was so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us!
And I LOVED the song playing - what was that?

It just makes me so humbled and excited that God has called us on this similar journey - Tim and I have felt privileged to "watch" you and Mark on your journey and follow in similar footsteps.

Openness to life is SUCH a beautiful witness of the LOVE of God!

  6. Hi Stacy :) What a precious series of posts! My favorite pics are the one of you feeding Addie in the car and the ones of the children meeting her - my heart!

I love that you have joyfully updated your "about me" *big smile* I loved changing mine to three ;)

"Great is Thy Faithfulness" is one of my heart songs. It was my mother's favorite, and my sister and I love to sing it together in parts as we remember her.

    With love and prayers, Q

  8. Stacy,

I'm so excited for your family! I've been sick most of this week and am just catching up on my blog reading, but yours was the very first I checked!! I'm so glad that Adelia is home and you can start bonding with her...what a blessing! And she is sooooo beautiful! I am rather partial to dark curly haired girls though!!

  12. What a great slide show!!! Well done. So many really good pictures there.
I love the one with grandpa Jake best! And you look so beautiful in all that you are in. You do not look like a woman who has been up all hours of the night with two new babies!
And reading "FOUR beautiful" children in your bio brings a smile to my face.
    4 blessings!
And I seriously can not get enough of that girl. I want to come back over!

  15. You had time to make a video! You are amazing! Thank you for sharing that with everyone. Its a wonderful way for those of us far away to celebrate with you and your family. The song has me crying because God is so good and it just melts me heart to see His hand......
Reading the post about you getting the call that Addie is coming home brought me right back to the moment of our referral call. It is a moment where no detail will ever be washed away from memory!
    Congrats again!!
May God continually bless you and your family!
    Woohoo!!

  17. Stacy, what can I say?... That video has me in tears. How beautiful and wonderful to see your little Addie being embraced with such joy and love into your family. And to see you and your mom holding both the girls at the same time and the emotion that invoked within me... what a week this must have been for *you*.

Stacy, you and Mark are such an inspiration and godly example to me. Even just through the pictures and your writing I am so in awe of how clearly I see the Father's heart displayed through you two. Thank you for your faithfulness; HE is being glorified!

I hope and pray your Easter is especially meaningful this year. Love and hugs to all, and a special kiss to Adelia.

  18. Hello there! I have been reading your blog for some time now and I have to say how blessed I am by your story. God is sooo good and evident in your life. I pray that as you take on a new responsibility with taking care of Addie that the Lord would fill you with His wisdom, love and patience. Be blessed during this wonderful season of life! And have a wonderful Resurrection Sunday!

  19. This was the absolute best part 3 I could have ever imagined. I can feel the love that is radiating in your family right now. I loved the separate shots of Addie with her dad and mom and sister and brothers. And seriously, I wish I looked that good when I am sleep deprived! I am praising the Lord with you guys, and trying not to be too jealous that I can't cuddle her! What a blessing!!

  22. Oh sweet Stacy...
FINALLY got to see this. (Our computer was weird.)

So, so precious. I cried and smiled and praised and sighed and cried and smiled some more.

Tell me who all the other people were in the pics.

And btw, I'm going to have to pray to banish the Stacy-envy that has entered my heart. First because of that beautiful girl and second because of your amazing hair.

    Email coming. :)

  23. How neat that your older children are already in love with baby Addie. I can understand why, she's so precious.

I'll be interested to read your thoughts on saying goodbye to your foster daughter. As you know, I'll be going through that myself all too soon.

  24. AHHH! LOVE it. Congrats, Mommy!

  25. Oh Stacy. I'm reading through some of the older posts. I had just read through the Good-bye to Baby posts and was so sad. Then I came to the beautiful YouTude of Addie. The sound was off on our comp. and when I turned it on, my heart softened and tears welled up. Great is His faithfulness, even in sorrow. Made me feel more ready to have our little one even in the mist of this valley. Thank you for taking time to praise him for his good works, it encouraged me.

  26. Stacy,
Thank you SO much for sharing your blog with me. I've spent the last few feedings with Anna catching up on your journey with Addie and crying with you over the heart-wrenching story of loving and saying farewell to your foster baby girl. I marvel every day at how God works in our lives and it's such a blessing to see how He moves in yours. I would comment on every post, but I still don't nurse and type all that well. :) I absolutely love the slideshow and I'm pretty sure I've been in tears after 90% of your posts. I can't wait to visit with you all again this summer if you're home when we visit Washington...
    Love,
    Colleen
